AFTERCARE
Careful aftercare is essential for a good healed result. It will minimise the risk of infection and skin trauma. You will be given an aftercare product to be applied for the first week after the treatment. You must use this and no other lotion or skincare products. Keep them as dry and clean as possible for the first week.
30 minutes after treatment clean the eyebrows thoroughly with water and neutral soap, apply the aftercare in a thin layer. Then repeat every 2-3 hours.
Before you go to bed, clean the brows for the last time with distilled water, apply a thin layer of aftercare product.
On Day 2 clean the brows one last time with distilled water and apply a thin layer the aftercare product. No more washing or cleaning of the brows for the next 5 days. Only apply the aftercare product 2-3 times a day to prevent them from becoming dry. (For people with oily skin, once a day is sufficient)
For the first week you may still wear makeup, just avoid getting it in your eyebrows. When washing and cleansing your face carefully clean around the eyebrows. In the shower do your best not to get them wet. If you do, gently pat them dry without rubbing. You may experience some mild peeling, this is part of the skin regeneration/renewal process so it is important not to scrub or pick within the first week and allow the skin to heal naturally in its own time. Scrubbing and picking lead to poor pigment retention.
Skin healing takes 28 days which is why we don’t top up before 4 weeks.
During the healing process, the skin will go through some changes. Healing is different for everyone but these are some of the stages and what to expect. During the first 2-4 days after treatment the brows will be darker (up to 40%) and will also look thicker don’t worry, they will shrink once healed and the colour will lighten.
You may experience some mild peeling, dry skin, small scabs in the area is normal, just don’t pick them and allow to heal naturally. It is very important not to scrub or pick within the first week and allow the skin to heal naturally.
Within the second week, the colour will fade, it may look patchy, uneven and can even look like it has disappeared, this is all normal and colour will come back in week 3 or 4 before your top-up. This is when we will make any corrections and add colour if needed.
